IPL 2026 Schedule Announced

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the initial schedule for the 2026 Indian Premier League. Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in the opening match of the 2026 season on March 28 in Bengaluru.

Venue Readiness

The Karnataka government has ensured that the M Chinnaswamy Stadium is ready to host the opening match. The BCCI has also announced that there will be 10 venues for the 2026 IPL, including Bengaluru, Mumbai, Guwahati, New Chandigarh, Lucknow, Kolkata, Chennai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, and Hyderabad.

Teams and Schedule

Other teams participating in the 2026 IPL include Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, and Chennai Super Kings. The BCCI has also announced that there will be double-headers, with afternoon and evening matches. The schedule has been affected by the West Asia conflict, which has caused travel issues for some players, including South African and West Indies players.
